I gather it's something of a group blog for the magazine's staff, but so far it looks like it's mainly an outlet for the slightly off-kilter rants of the magazine's associate editor (and WEEKLY STANDARD contributor) Reihan Salam. Here's his take on Prince Harry: ...Perhaps the real trouble is that men of royal blood, by their nature, need new lands to conquer. Why not give Prince Harry a crack contingent of Gurkha fighting men and set him loose on some war-ravaged region, where he can establish his own princely state as a latter-day white rajah? Consider Canada, a nation torn by ethnic strife and religious hatred, where daily life has become a miserable struggle to survive amidst endless gun battles waged by rival gangs of crazed ice-dancing rebels and the soaring loonie has sent the economy into a tailspin.

Police estimate the students were taking five times the recommended dosage in order to get high. The overdose leads to extremely high heart rates that can cause death. Anastasia Park, 15, said she decided to try Benadryl after hearing about it from a friend. .

The announcers had the challenge of recapping everything going on with Styles, Tomko (and Christian), and Kip and the James family. Styles gave Kip a Pele out of nowhere followed quickly by a Tomko running clothesline in a nice sequence at 2:00. Karen then walked to the ring. Bob tagged in and threw some chops. If Ric Flair sees this, he's never going to retire. B.G. tossed a cutch to Kip, but Kip turned heel and hit Bob with it. Tomko rolled on top of Bob for the opportunistic pin. WINNERS: Tomko & Styles in 3:00. -After the match, B.G. tried to get into the ring to tend to his dad, but Kip hit him with crutches, too. Tenay said ten years of history just came to an end.

Why does the USDA say the risk is low? The risk is low because no contaminated or infected beef has been found and because no human illnesses have been linked to the recalled beef. Why was the beef recalled? According to the USDA, Hallmark/Westland voluntarily recalled the products because of allegations that the company failed to properly inspect cattle prior to slaughter. A video released by the Humane Society of the United States vividly documents inhumane treatment of cattle at the Hallmark/Westland facility.
Poll: Most on Maui can tolerate TVRs
KAHULUI — At least up until Jan. 1, about one-third of Mauians had had some direct contact with transient vacation rentals. Most, though not all, said they were getting along, according to a survey by SMS Research commissioned by the Realtors Association of Maui. The results generally mirrored an SMS survey in 2002, which was commissioned by the county. Since then, much has changed, including an alleged explosion of transient rentals. Except for a handful with permits, unlicensed operations were supposed to shut down last month. The recent SMS survey, taken in December and January, started out by asking whether the respondent lived in a neighborhood that had TVR operations. Half the respondents on the west side said “yes," as did three in 10 in Kihei. One in four who lived on Molokai or Lanai said they had a TVR neighbor.

Internet Family Sues MySpace After Teen Commits Suicide
While the Internet has a wealth of good things going for it, there are some bad points as well. Social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook illustrate these points well. Most users of MySpace and Facebook use the sites as they were intended -- a place to meet friends and find like-minded people to chat with and make new friends. However, both Facebook and MySpace have had problems with sexual predators preying on unsuspecting children using the sites. DailyTech reported earlier this month that Megan Meier, a 13-year-old girl, had committed suicide after a cyber-bully tormented her on her MySpace page. In the case of Meier, the local district attorney said charges were unlikely to be filed. The Dallas Morning News reports that another young girl, a 14-year-old identified only as Julie Doe from California killed herself in July of 2006 after being sexually assaulted by a 30-year-old man that she had met on MySpace named Kiley Ryan Bowers.
McCain: Garden variety politician
Indeed, he has teamed up with the most liberal Democrats in the Senate on several occasions to promote dangerous ideas which no true conservative could tolerate. Let's run through a few of them:McCain-Feingold — This bill was the dangerous "campaign finance reform" law which essentially took away many group's right to support a candidate of their choice with their own money. It has also empowered such moneyed interests as George Soros, who is reputed to be the liberal patron saint of campaign finance reform.McCain-Kennedy — This early version of "comprehensive immigration reform" was an outright odious surrender to Mexico and would have resulted in legalizing millions of illegal immigrants. Just as President Bush felt the wrath of conservatives for his reform plan, so too McCain has violated what many consider a core principle of sovereignty.
